Their focus extended far beyond his appearance. In fact, to these demons, Tang Monk’s status, looks, and temperament were irrelevant. To them, he was not a holy monk but a “great immortal elixir” capable of granting instant Celestial Immortal status. Their sole objective was to obtain his primordial yang — a vital essence that would elevate them to “Celestial Immortals”. Such temptation was irresistible. Demons like the White Bone Spirit, Scorpion Spirit, Jade Rabbit Spirit, and Apricot Fairy pursued him solely for this purpose.

The Queen’s Political Calculus

In contrast, the Woman Kingdom Queen had different motives — driven by pragmatism. She conceived the idea of marrying Tang Monk in a dream, before ever seeing him. Her decision wasn’t based on his appearance. As her dialogue reveals, her interest stemmed largely from the political power of the Tang Dynasty he represented. Through marriage, she sought to consolidate her rule in the country and leverage the Tang’s might against foreign threats. Thus, her attraction was never about affection or love — at least initially.
