One day the Lady Queen Mother decided to open wide her treasure chamber and to give a banquet for the Grand Festival of Immortal Peaches, which was to be held in the Palace of the Jasper Pool. She ordered the various Immortal Maidens—Red Gown, Blue Gown, White Gown, Black Gown, Purple Gown, Yellow Gown, and Green Gown—to go with their flower baskets to the Garden of Immortal Peaches and pick the fruits for the festival.

Seething with resentment, the Dragon King of the Eastern Ocean ascended to the Heavenly Court after Wukong’s departure. He petitioned the Jade Emperor, accusing the Monkey King of ransacking his palace, stealing the Divine Sea-Anchoring Iron, and terrorizing the aquatic realm. He begged the emperor to dispatch troops to subdue the demon.

After walking through innumerable quiet chambers and empty studios, they finally arrived beneath the Jade Platform, the Monkey King saw Patriarch Subodhi (Master Subhuti) seated solemnly, flanked by thirty young immortals.
