As soon as the Monkey King had been subdued, the demon rode a whirlwind and quickly caught up with the Tang Monk.
After his lie was exposed by Wukong, Zhu Bajie was forced to patrol the mountain once more. This time, he dared not dawdle any longer. Straightening his robes and gripping his iron rake, he set out at once.
After rescuing the Princess of the Sacred Elephant Kingdom and receiving the grateful honors from her father, the group journeyed onward without rest for many days. They ate only when hunger or thirst overtook them, traveling by daylight and resting when the sun dipped below the horizon.
Wukong and Bajie arrived together at the Moon Stream Cave(Moon Flow Cave). They rescued both the Monk Sha and the Princess. Yet the Princess did not believe that the monkey could defeat the demon.
In the middle of the night, Bajie mounted a cloud and returned to the post house.
Out of suspicion and paranoia, Monk Tang had rashly listened to Zhu Bajie’s words and banished the Monkey King. After the rift, he mounted his horse and continued westward as if nothing had happened. Bajie led the way, while Sha Wujing followed behind, carrying the luggage.
Meanwhile, the monster had risen high into the air and thus saved its life. The Pilgrim’s blow did not harm it in the least, for as already mentioned, it used magic to send its spirit soaring just in time.
