Before long, the Queen Mother of the West and the Grand Primordial(Laozi) both journeyed to the Treasure Hall of Divine Mists to lodge formal complaints against the Stone Rebel.
The Jade Emperor was furious. He at once commanded the Four Great Devarajas(Four Great Heavenly Kings) to assist Devaraja Li and Prince Nezha. Together, they called up the Twenty-Eight Constellations, the Nine Luminaries, the Twelve Horary Branches, the Fearless Guards of Five Quarters, the Four Temporal Guardians, and a hundred thousand celestial soldiers. They were ordered to journey to the Region Below to capture the rogue and bring him to justice.
The Celestial Battle
With celestial battle formations unfurling like sacred scrolls, the Monkey King marshaled his armed simian army on the Flower-Fruit Mountain to confront the cosmic challengers.

Heavenly King Virudhaka (Guardian of the South) brandished his sword, chanting incantations. Silver light fractalized into a thousand gleaming blades, raining toward the Great Sage. Wukong calmly plucked hairs, transforming them into shields that deflected the assault.

Heavenly King Dhrtarastra (Guardian of the East) strummed his lute, unleashing sonic waves that disoriented Wukong and his monkeys.

Heavenly King Vaisravana (Guardian of the North) hurled his treasure umbrella, spewing fog before a gale sucked the Monkey King and his troops inside. As Vaisravana laughed triumphantly, Wukong awoke within the umbrella.

Using his staff, Wukong failed to pierce the fabric. He transformed a hair into a diamond drill, boring a hole. Light flooded in, reviving the monkeys as they escaped. Snatching Dhrtarastra’s lute, Wukong snapped its strings, sending the king fleeing.
Heavenly King Virupaksa (Guardian of the West) unleashed a venomous serpent crowned with a luminous pearl. After clashing with the beast, Wukong seized its pearl, killing it instantly.

Erlang Shen(the Three-Eyed God), witnessing the Four Heavenly Kings’ defeat, roared furiously. He and his Howling Celestial Dog charged, clashing blades with Wukong.

Meanwhile, celestial troops stormed Flower and Fruit Mountain. The monkeys ambushed them, unleashing waterfall torrents and tripping soldiers with vines.

As celestial forces regrouped, raining arrows and fire, the monkeys retreated into crevices and streams.

Distracted, Wukong tried to disengage, but Erlang Shen pursued relentlessly. Wukong transformed into a sparrow; Erlang became a hawk.

Wukong shifted into a trout; Erlang morphed into a egret.

Cornered, Wukong disguised himself as a temple—eyes as windows, mouth as doors—but his tail remained a flagpole. Erlang’s divine third eye exposed the ruse.

Their duel resumed until Lord Laozi (the Supreme Elder) intervened, hurling his Diamond Bangle to strike Wukong’s head.

The Howling Celestial Dog clamped onto Wukong’s leg, allowing gods to swarm and capture the defiant Monkey King.
