Caigentan 47. Unconscious truth of character

Not only are the actions and words of a good man peaceful and serene, even when asleep his facial expression is full of good will.

As for the bad man, not only are his actions evil and violent, even his speech and voice betray murderous intent.

吉人无论作用安详,即梦寐神魂无非和气;凶人无论行事狼戾,即声音唉语浑是杀机。

Inner-Outer Unity: Character as essence, Conduct as manifestation

This passage from Cai Gen Tan (Tending the roots of wisdom) reveals the inseparability of inner nature and outer expression — words, demeanor, and even unconscious states truthfully reflect the heart. No disguise is complete.

Aura forged by nature in long-term

“Harmony” and “lethality” are intangible yet palpable auras, cultivated by sustained mental states. Like air, unseen but felt, this energy is the inevitable result of lifelong inner choices.

Observe Subtly: Essence in details, Truth in the unconscious

It offers a lens to perceive others: Look beyond deliberate acts to spontaneous “energy.”

The contrast between “dreams/spirit” and “voice/laughter” highlights how authenticity surfaces when defenses drop — calculated “good” or “evil” may deceive briefly, but never the aura shaped over time.

Ultimate Wisdom:

Character is the cause, aura the fruit, conduct the visible sign. Outer “harmony” or “lethality” is but the natural overflow of inner good or ill. To attract an auspicious life, nurture inner goodness — when true harmony fills the heart, one effortlessly becomes a “auspicious person” blessed by fate.
