Early in the morning, Monk Tang put on his embroidered kasaya, while Wukong prepared the travel documents, Wujing took up the alms bowl, and Wuneng picked up his staff.
A young Taoist began shouting wildly while pounding on the door of his masters’ chambers. “Respected Masters! A terrible misfortune has occurred!”
Sun Wukong recounted everything that had happened to Tripitaka. The Monk Tang exclaimed, deeply moved: “What can we possibly do in a situation like this?”
Defeated, Tripitaka wiped his tears and rejoined his disciples. When the Monkey King saw his Master upset, he approached him and asked: “Did the monks from this monastery strike you?”
After the conference ended, the Great Immortal, Patriarch Zhenyuan, left the Tushita Palace.
The Monkey King pulled the reins and led his master onto the main road. After several hours of travel, they came upon a mountain of extraordinary height.
