The three demons confronted the Monkey King and his two companions at the eastern gates of the city. The battle raged on until the very hour of twilight, when the sky gradually darkened and night cast its veil of darkness everywhere.
The king immediately ordered that an altar be prepared. It was not long before an official appeared and informed the three Taoists:
Monk Sha furiously emerged from the waters of the Black River. The Monkey King asked: “You’ve been down there so long—what kind of demon is it? Did you manage to see the Master?”
Los tres demonios, los cuales, unidos por un mismo propósito, se enfrentaron al Rey Mono y a sus dos hermanos ante las murallas orientales de la ciudad.
Tras despedirse del viejo dragón, el Rey Mono se dirigió hacia Río Negro, acompañado de Mo Ang, llegando en un abrir y cerrar ojos a sus orillas.
