Mencius said: “There are three forms of unfilial conduct, and the gravest is having no descendants.Shun married without informing his parents precisely to avoid this greatest unfilial act.Therefore, the noble person considers it as if he had informed them.”
Mencius said to Yuezheng Zi (Yuezheng Ke): “Your coming here with Zi Ao is merely for the sake of food and drink.I never expected that someone who has studied the ancient Way would stoop to seeking just a meal!”
Yuezheng Zi (Yuezheng Ke) had come to the state of Qi with Zi Ao (Wang Huan). Later, he went to visit Mencius.
Mencius said: “The trouble with people is that they love to act as teachers to others.”
