A cool crescent like an eyebrow hangs over the Willow Bay;

Hills of Yue reflected in the stream look like a mirror lay.

For three days, rain’s fallen with peach petals on Orchid Stream;

At midnight, from the shoal leap up all the bream.

凉月如眉挂柳湾,

越中山色镜中看。

兰溪三日桃花雨,

半夜鲤鱼来上滩。

Note

Lanxi (Orchid Stream): Name of a river. It refers to the Lanxi River (also called Lan River) within the historical Wuzhou prefecture, located in present-day Jinhua, Zhejiang Province.

Yue: In ancient times, the southeastern coastal region of China was referred to as Yue, corresponding broadly to the central part of modern Zhejiang Province.
